Underground

A new noir musical adaptation of The Heart in Exile (1953).

Underground — The New Musical

London, 1948. A solicitor is dead in his flat — a cyanide pill, ruled suicide. His fiancée has questions. So does Dr Tony Page, the psychiatrist she comes to for help — because years before, the dead man was Tony's lover.

Underground is a new noir musical adaptation of the first ever gay detective novel — Adam de Hegedus's The Heart in Exile (1953). The investigation takes Tony back into the covert gay scene of foggy postwar London, with its bars, its codes, and the constant threat of blackmail and exposure.
